The Rules
Below are the given standards for the site and respective sections within. Guidelines and rules which pertain to things such as site behavior, character creation, and other relatable topics. Please do try to abide by them as closely as possible. A three warning system is in effect before serious consequences are dealt accordingly.
General Rules
01. RESPECT EACH OTHER because the point is to maintain a friendly environment for a friendly community. Being excessively rude will not be tolerated as well as being a bully will not be tolerated. Should you be asked to stop doing something, it is expected you should do so.
02. IN ACCORDANCE WITH PROBOARDS TOS everything on site should remain within the limits of a PG-13 or below level. If necessary, either fade to black or at the very least mark topics with a [MATURE] tag in the title. The Terms of Service also state that everyone must be thirteen years of age to join.
03. SWEARING IS FINE within moderation. Enjoy the pleasure but don't take it too far. Keep it classy.
04. IF YOU ARE GOING ABSENT for any amount of time, we have a section where you can post that you'll be gone away. This will exempt you from activity checks and site clean up until the given date of your return. That way there's no panic either.
Character Rules
01. ONE ACCOUNT PER CHARACTER as this makes organization for both member and staff as easy as can be. That said, there are no OOC accounts. The only ones that should be registered on site are for staff use only.
02. IN ORDER TO MAKE MORE CHARACTERS you must have a total of ten in character posts on your previous ones. This is represented by the post count given on your profile. There is no character limit but care should be taken when having multiples.
03. BOTH ANIMANGA AND ORIGINAL ARTWORK FACE CLAIMS are acceptable. However, the original artist and title of the piece you are using must be documented in the Face Claims directory just as any other Animanga claim. Should you need help with a suitable face claim feel free to ask as there are members with experience that can help.
04. YOU MUST HAVE PICTURES set in your mini profile in order for your character to be fully approved. Ideally this should be of your face claim.
05. TRY TO USE BOTH METRIC AND IMPERIAL systems whenever explaining or mentioning such things as height and/or weight in character applications. We are a globally friendly forum and as such do what we can do so all parties can understand.
06. REFER TO ALL CLAIMS before you create a character. Not knowing that a program class or character name might be banned is no excuse. Program classes are usually only banned in situations of extreme overpopulation.
07. VARIETY IS KEY and should staff feel like you're making too many carbon copies of the same design, there might be inclination to deny further characters until a show of difference is achieved. Be bold, be brave, and don't be afraid to think things out or try something new.
08. ONLY ONE ADMIN TYPE PROGRAM per member. As this is a class of program with the highest known authorities over system abilities, spaces will be limited and those who do qualify for the rank will be restricted to one only.
09. ADMIN PROGRAMS are generally hand selected by the current reigning Master Control Program at the guidance and approval of the site staff.
threading rules
01. THERE IS NO MINIMUM WORD COUNT though we do ask that you attempt to be courteous to your threading partners. If they give you a moderately long post try to give them the effort back in replies. That said, remember, quality over quantity.
02. NO G-MOD OR POWER PLAYS unless you have the full consent of all parties involved and they are intentionally aware of the situation. It's not polite and staff will step in should things escalate that far.
03. LIQUID TIME is acceptable here. This means your character can be in multiple topics at a time. Just be sure to keep all threads active and in proper check.
04. CHAT SPEAK inside threads, unless within the Communications board, is not permitted. We expect some kind of literate poise but at the same time will not be policing your grammar on consistency.
05. WE OPERATE ON STANDARD TIME meaning that characters will age and be effected to things over the course of their existence. To be noted, that while in the system one human year calculates to approximately fifty digital cycles. Due to this effect the average life cycle of programs is incredibly high by human standards.
activity rules
01. ACTIVITY CHECKS are routinely done during the last five days of a three month period unless stated otherwise by staff via a site wide announcement.
02. IF YOU'RE GOING TO MISS AN ACTIVITY CHECK please let staff know via a PM or by posting in the Log Out board. We completely understand that life happens with mishaps. However, unless you let us known we cant make assumptions on whether you jumped ship or not. If you get in contact, you'll be exempt from the activity check.
03. YOU MUST MEET POST REQUIREMENTS for activity checks. They are rather easily accomplished all things considered. The minimum we ask is one active post per character from within the three month period. Should this not be met you will be asked to drop characters accordingly.
04. CHARACTERS IN HIGH POSITIONS (admins and sentry) are expected to be slightly more active than standard characters. This is to assure equal opportune chances for all members to be able to obtain. Should staff feel that activity is an issue. You might be asked to demote them to a more suitable standard rank.
05. IF YOU MISS MORE THAN ONE ACTIVITY CHECK and have not brought to attention some kind of extenuating circumstance to which you are unable to check in (health, loss of internet, ect). Should you decide to return after the fact, you will only be allowed to bring back one of your characters. At which point you will be required to re-earn the right to play the remaining characters via our ten post character rule. Understand we do this not to aggravate by any means but to bring attention to the efforts that go into cleaning up after a member is assumed gone. It is a bit of a process to have to shift accounts and materials around and then back again on sudden notice. So this is merely a consequence for irresponsibility. Forgive us.
